Wesson salad oil, 7 unbeaten egg yolks, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 c. burnt sugar syrup, 1/4 c. cold water, 2 c. powdered sugar, 1/4 c. shortening, 3 or 4 tbsp. burnt sugar mixture, 1 tsp. vanilla, 2 tbsp. cream or enough to make spreading consistency

3/4 c. sugar, 1 c. boiling water, 2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour, 1 c. sugar, 1 tbsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. salad oil, 5 eggs separated plus, 3 egg whites, 1/4 c. water, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar, 1/2 c. burnt sugar syrup
