Chicken-shrimp Curry Recipe

Ingredients:

2 c. chopped onions
1/4 c. cooking oil
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. ground coriander
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. whole cumin seeds
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
1 chicken, cut up
1/2 c. plain yogurt
2 tsp. salt
2 c. water
1 lb. shrimp, shelled & deveined

Cooking Directions:

Saute onions in oil until transparent but not brown. Add 1/2 cup water and all spices. Stir and cook for 5 minutes. Add chicken, yogurt and more salt to taste. Cook 5 minutes longer then add 2 cups water. Cover and simmer about 1 hour. Add shrimp, cover and simmer 5 minutes more. Remove from heat. Serve over rice if desired. Add cornstarch paste to stock for thicker gravy.
