Waikiki Banana Bars Recipe
Ingredients:
1/4 c. shortening or oil1 c. brown sugar or 1/2 c. honey
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. mashed bananas
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts, raisins or both
1/3 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Cooking Directions:
Combine shortening or oil, sugar or honey, flavorings and bananas. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Add to first mixture; mix well. Stir in nuts or fruit. Bake in 11"x7" pan at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. While warm, cut into bars and roll in powdered sugar and cinnamon. For lighter bars, add one egg.Other Recipes you might like:
