"piggy" Oat Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

2 c. sifted flour
1 1/3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. rolled oats
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. fig filling

Cooking Directions:

Sift together dry ingredients; stir in oats and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Pat 2/3 mixture in 13x9 inch ungreased pan; spread fig filling evenly. Top with remaining crumbs and pat. Bake at 375 degrees for about 35 minutes. Yield: 2 1/2 dozen.

You may add sesame seeds, Grape Nuts or coconut or all three to the crumb mixture. You may substitute any preserve for the fig filling.
