Homemade Fig Bars Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 c. butter2 sm. eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 tsp. soda
2 1/2 c. flour
Cooking Directions:
Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs, flour and soda sifted together and vanilla.FIG FILLING:
Make first and let cool.
Grind figs fine. Add 1 cup water, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp. flour. Boil until clear. Cool.
Roll 1/2 of dough and place in 9x13 pan. Spread fig filling over dough. Roll remaining dough and place on top of fig filling. Mark size of bars and bake 375 degrees until lightly browned. When cool cut bars through. Better than bought ones!
