Ranch Style Frijoles Recipe
Ingredients:
2 lbs. dry pinto beans2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 can taco sauce
4 cloves garlic, diced
Comino seed
2 lg. onions, chopped
1 can roasted green chilies
1 can tomatoes
Cooking Directions:
Soak beans overnight. To cook, cover with about 2 inches water above beans. Add salt. Boil over medium fire for 1 hour, adding water if necessary. Add onions, garlic, black pepper, comino seed, chopped green chilies, taco sauce and red pepper; let simmer until done.Variation: Frijoles may be made into chili con carne by adding 2 pounds ground beef and a large onion sauteed in fat, after cooking the beans for an hour.
