Green Tomato Mincemeat Recipe
Ingredients:
3 pts. coarse ground green tomatoes3 pts. coarse ground apples
4 c. brown sugar
1 1/3 c. mild vinegar
3 c. raisins, ground
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. allspice
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. salt
Cooking Directions:
Mix tomatoes and apples and drain. Add rest of ingredients, simmer 3 hours. Seal hot. Add butter when making pies, 1 tablespoon to a pie. Double batch makes 6 quarts.Other Recipes you might like:
