Egg Pastry Recipe

Ingredients:

3 c. plain flour
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco or other solid shortening
1 egg
Cold milk (sweet)

Cooking Directions:

This recipe is great because if it breaks as you put it in pie pan just pinch together. It will hold together. Mix flour, sugar and salt together (I sift it). Add shortening with 2 knives, or pastry blender, cut until shortening is very fine. Beat egg in measuring cup. Add sweet milk to make 1/2 cup. Stir together. Add to flour mixture. Stir until flour is dampened and sticks together when most of dough is in a ball. Remove to lightly floured board and using floured hands, gather into ball. Do not knead, just push together. This is enough for 4 pie crusts. May be stored in refrigerator as long as two weeks.
