Mother's Green Tomato Mincemeat For Pies Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c. suet3 qts. (6 lbs.) chopped, unpeeled green tomatoes
2 qts. (5 lbs.) pared apples, chopped
2 lbs. seeded raisins
4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c. cider vinegar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. powdered cloves
2 tbsp. salt
1 orange, without seeds, cut up
Cooking Directions:
Combine in kettle. Simmer uncovered 2 1/2 to 3 hours until thick. Stir frequently. Makes 5 to 6 pints. If preserving, process 30 minutes.Other Recipes you might like:
